Robots saved in the breeding room ([S]) or sent from a robot's page ([A]) live here together, up to about a thousand, on a square floor with walls. [+1], [+10], [+100] put copies into the running arena — on a free spot, or, when the floor is full, dropped from above onto the others; [M] doubles everyone present. The sun circles once a day and climbs to 65° at noon; at night there is none. A cell charges from direct light on its face only, so a robot in another's shadow, or its own, gets the diffuse tenth. The arena runs in crowd physics, coarser than the breeding room: each robot is a rigid cluster of up to 76 spheres, the first of them where it really touches the floor (multi-sphere DEM), Δt = 1 ms, and its gait — how far and which way it moves while its engine fires, whether it jumps — is measured beforehand in the exact model. Still robots sleep until their engine fires or something bumps them. All three lines meet here: each robot is built by its own line (V1 boards and wire with glued magnets, V2 a printed shell and loose magnets, V3 motors in screwed holders), and all of them move in the newest line's crowd physics, engines/beam-v3/crowd.js (printed plates with their own friction, loose magnets that turn to their neighbour, glued ones that do not).
